- NGC7293 is called "The Helical Nebula",
- and is considered to be one of the
- nearest and largest planetaries. Even
- though its angular diameter is nearly
- half that of the moon, its low surface
- brightness makes it a rather faint. It
- is an easy object for both binoculars and
- small telescopes using low power. It is
- illuminated by very hot 13th magnitude
- star, said to be roughly 180,000 degrees
- F and only 4 times the earth's diameter.
- NGC7293 is believed to be 1.75 light
- years across.
